‘THE MOVIE WAS DEFINITELY WORTH THE WAIT!’  — this statement perfectly describes how we felt after finally having the chance to watch It Takes A Man and A Woman last Saturday. Ever since the movie was announced and soon as teasers came out, our ‘craving’ for the unparalleled John Lloyd-Sarah tandem, from A Very Special Love and You Changed My Life, began once again. From the humble beginnings of their love story to this heart-warming clincher, Miguel Montenegro and Adelaida Magtalas never failed to make us smile, giggle, and tear up because of too much kilig.

From a Laida who never thought that ‘loving the man of her dreams’ could ever come true to a Laida whose heart got broken, in this movie, she comes back bolder, braver, and fiercer as she bid farewell to her old self and embraced Laida Magtalas Version 2.0. Miggy, on the other hand, succumbed to a previous mistake he did and felt like he could never do anything right, thus, committing one mistake after another.

Reunited once more as co-workers for Flippage, the two faced a bigger challenge as they try to get the license to publish MET, a popular magazine all over the world, here in the Philippines while overcoming their issue of a past relationship. It was undeniable that they still both have feelings for one another which were rekindled in the course of getting a partnership with Empire, the official publisher of MET.

Their love story which stood the test of time still had a happy ending as Miggy realized that he still loved Laida, and Laida giving Miggy an overdue forgiveness for hurting her a couple of years back. The two got married in the end and vowed to love each other for the rest of their lives. Miggy took an indefinite leave from Flippage as he wanted to come with Laida to New York who will work with Empire.

It was a fantastic movie which summed up the fairytale love story of two people who are polar opposites; one who is used to a grandiose life and one who is used to living a meek and simple one. Aside from the kilig moments from the movie, the characters teach us how to forgive, to love again, and to trust yourself.

TALAGA NAMANG MASARAP ANG MAGMAHAL! MBA
