We Wish You Love in 2013!

It has been a year of ups and downs for us and one that is filled with laughter and tears. But as they say, endings are also opportunities for new beginnings to start. So we bid 2012 goodbye and say hello to 2013 with high hopes and much enthusiasm as we look forward for a better one next year. With this being said, we would like to make a shoutout to those who trusted Renzo's and tried our scrumptious homemade treats! We hope that the gamble that you took was worth it and that you would continue to patronize us this coming year!

If good wishes always come true, our most sincere we send to you. From our home to yours, we wish everyone a very prosperous, fulfilling and blessed 2013! Happy New Year :)

I Miss You Lola!

Dear Lola,

The last time we had the chance to talk, you were crying as I held your hand. You told me to take good care of myself but what really made me cry was when you asked if you could donate your eyes to Diko Apen when you're already gone.

Lola, I will forever remember you not for the days that I saw you suffer as I watched helplessly by your side but for your bright smiles and that infectious laughter. I know I didn't get the chance to thank you for everything that you did for me while you were still alive but I want you to know that I wouldn't be who I am today if not for you. I hope that even though you haven't said it verbally, you're proud of what I've accomplished. I know that it's one of the last on your list of worries so you might not even know that I already have my own online bakeshop. I'm already earning even though I haven't graduated yet. It was already too late as I was only able to give a portion of what I earned for a tarpaulin now that you're gone. I would like to say sorry Lola for those times when I was too busy minding my stuff when I could've devoted my time for you instead. I know that guiding you as you take your daily walks would never be enough for all those things that you did for me. But I hope that what I did was enough for you to appreciate.

You may not be physically present anymore but I would like you to know that from now on, you will always remain in my heart wherever I will go. Please say hi to God for me up there! I LOVE YOU LOLA AND I MISS YOU ALREADY!

Bog Standard Gifts To Give This Christmas Season

"Christmas is the most awaited celebration for Filipinos each year" is a statement surely everyone would agree. Remembered as a season of giving and sharing, people selflessly allocate even a small portion of their bonus just to keep the Christmas spirit alive. And as the 25th of December comes closer and closer, people tend to flock malls near them to do a last minute shopping for their friends and loved ones.

Though we are taught to be appreciative of gifts that are given to us from the heart, there are just those that we are already tired of receiving each and every single year. Things that though practical and really useful, a stash would seemingly appear to be a little bit too much to keep in our cabinets already.

This being said, we decided to do a round up of some commonly thought of gifts that would hopefully make you think more creatively in terms of ideas and inspirations as to what to get your friends, family, and loved ones when you shop for gifts this Christmas season.

Bog standard gifts for Christmas

1. Towels - The most common item for gift giving at events such as weddings, baby showers, and Christmas are towels. They can be inexpensive gifts but it is important to be creative in the decision making.
2. Picture frames - These are something that will probably gather dust if it doesn't match your living room, right? We are sure you could think of something better to give.
3. Ceramic mugs - How many mugs did you receive last Christmas? Are they enough to make your own mug store? Tee hee! Think twice before buying someone a mug. 
4. Planners - Getting many planners during Christmas, what should you do? Oh, put your different schedule types on each! Your personal schedule on one, business appointments on the other, and other events on another. Genius, eh?
5. Scented candles - Candles with heart-warming scents make the perfect presents that they made it to our list of the most common gifts during this holiday season.

In gift-giving it is not the price tag that matters. Discern if your gift will be something useful for your friends and relatives. The key here is to find out what they love and find the corresponding gift to match their hobbies and interests. Advance Merry Christmas everyone!

UP Lantern Parade 2012

The Lantern Parade is an annual tradition at the University of the Philippines - Diliman where large lantern floats are paraded by their respective colleges and institutions around the campus' academic oval. It is a very much awaited event by students, professors, staff, and administrators alike as it is an opportunity for them to unwind from work and which actually marks the start of the institution's Christmas break. This year, the event took place on the 14th of December where thousands of people flocked the campus to witness how Iskos and Iskas celebrate the holiday season. Through the years, the event has become popular even with outsiders that media outlets and major television networks regularly send crews to get clippings of the said event.

What makes the event more fun is the fact that participants are allowed to hold one-minute performances in front of Palma and Melchor Halls, but limits performance time at the Amphitheater to only two minutes. This year’s parade carries the theme “Dangal at Kahusayan sa Paglilingkod sa Bayan.” The theme seeks to put further focus on environmental protection and the benefits of recycling. Talk About Toy Poodles

The toy poodle is one remarkably intelligent breed. Considered to be highly responsive and extremely active, they are one of the easiest to train. With their sweet, cheerful, and endearing qualities, these furbabies are expected to want the company of people. Delightful, amusing, and very keen are the other positive characteristics that they possess. Though poodles may look dainty and demure, the truth is that they have a stellar range of skills which includes agility, obedience, hunting, and herding. Almost an all around dog in every aspect!
 

The breed actually originated in Germany as a water retriever. Its name came from the German word pudel which means to splash in water. The stylish poodle clip which is the common haircut done with poodles was designed by hunters to help the dogs move through the water more efficiently while the patches of hair left were meant to protect vital organs and joints susceptible to cold.

The American Kennel Club varies the breed by its height and not by its weight. The maximum height of toy poodles is 10 inches at the highest point of the shoulders. Toy poodles have a small but graceful frame with a rounded skull, a medium-length head and muzzle, dark and wide oval shaped eyes, and close-hanging ears. Their coats are also unusual as the vary with some having curly and wiry while others have soft and wavy ones. They can also come in a solid color or a parti color as they call those with mixed colored fur. But don't be fooled by them, they are actually hypoallergenic!

Our little angels Zach and Zoey are apricot and black toy poodles respectively. They are both alert, responsive, and love to play. They are our stress relievers as they like to cuddle and kiss us every time we arrive home. Zach and Zoey are not puppies for us, they are little babies in curly coats.

Second Shoot

BIGLAANG TRIP - this is how we would describe our second photo shoot with our two furbabies last December 1st. Though it was impromptu and something really unexpected, we still got pictures that we extremely love! We are also proud parents as our little Zach and Zoey were as game as us when it comes to striking poses infront of the camera. Our weary feet and aching arms were all worth it as we got snap shots that we would treasure forever.

Sarah Wins Best Asian Artist Award

Sarah Geronimo - Best Asian Artist (Philippines)

The Mnet Asian Music Awards or more commonly known as MAMA is one of the major K-pop music award-giving bodies. Organized by Mnet Media based in South Korea for almost 13 years now, the 2012 MAMA held at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Center last November 30. Pop Princess Sarah Geronimo broke new grounds as she was the first Filipino to ever win the Best Asian Artist Award. The other nominees for the said award were Agnes Monica (Indonesia), My Tam (Vietnam), Taufik Batisah (Singapore), Li Yuchun (China), AKB48 (Japan), and Wang Leehom (Taiwan). Other big winners during the annual event were Big Bang for Artist of the Year, Super Junior for Album of the Year, and PSY's world wide hit Gangnam Style who won Song of the Year.

Congratulations Sarah! You definitely make us proud to be Filipinos!
